EV Stories: Cyndi Whisnant

March 24, 2017 by Extraordinary Ventures Leave a Comment

In 2012, I first began working at Extraordinary Ventures and I discovered that many of our employees loved making art and some were quite gifted. Some made art at home on their own but many of them said they wished they were back in school where art classes were a part of their day. We decided to find an art teacher in the community who had experience working with this population and we set out to create an environment that celebrates their unique vision. Each year, we have an exhibit of their work and a swanky gallery opening night with refreshments and lots of photo opportunities for our artists and their families. We have things to learn from these artists and this art program gives them a voice in our community. A special thanks to the art teachers and volunteers who help to make this happen!
