On Thursday, April 21st, EV will be hosting the third annual Autism Awareness Lecture presented by the OPC Area Program. The lecture will last from 1pm until 3pm, and will feature Jim Bodfish, Ph.D., who will present “Autism: advances, current challenges and future directions.” Dr. Bodfish, who is the Thomas E. Castelloe Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics at UNC Chapel Hill, will also be discussing the work of the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. The month of April is National Autism Awareness Month, and this presentation is sure to shed light on the current state of affairs in the world of autism and developmental disabilities both locally and nationally. Admission is free and no pre-registration is necessary. For more information about this event, call Peter Kramer at 919.913.4055.
